By Tata Safari facelift officially launched in India at the starting price of Rs. 16.19 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). Like the Harrier, the company hasn’t revealed the full price list of the Safari but the company has revealed the price of one automatic variant. At the front, the Safari distinguishes itself with a larger upper section in the split grille, embellished with a silver-finished faux skid plate. The headlamp housing in the bumper has also grown in size, accompanied by a full-width LED light bar that doubles as a daytime running lamp (DRL).
While the profile of the Safari maintains its familiar silhouette, the updated alloy wheel designs catch the eye. The rear, too, sports a familiar housing for the tail lamps, albeit with a fresh light signature. The rear bumper has undergone a facelift, now featuring rectangular protrusions to house reflectors and reverse lights. Stepping inside the Safari, you’ll find a layout akin to the Harrier, with minor distinctions in finishes. Like its sibling, the Safari offers a choice between two touchscreen sizes – 10.25-inch and 12.3-inch, depending on the trim. The list of features is extensive, including a touch-based panel for HVAC controls, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a new four-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata Motors logo, and more.
Safety remains paramount, with the Safari equipped with seven airbags, including six as standard across the range. It also includes ADAS, hill-hold control, seat belt reminders for all passengers, and other advanced safety features. Beneath the hood, the Safari retains its 2.0-litre diesel engine, generating 170hp and 350Nm of torque, paired with 6-speed manual or automatic gearboxes. The automatic transmission becomes available starting from the Adventure+ variant, and the Safari offers three terrain response modes – Normal, Rough, and Wet – along with three driving modes (Eco, City, and Sport). Tata Motors has introduced a new trim naming system, moving away from the older nomenclature. The Safari is now available in four core trims – Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished – with additional packages bundled with various features denoted by a ‘+’ or ‘A’ suffix.
