Skoda finally revealed the Octavia RS with regular combustion engines. The plug-in hybrid model has been already unveiled and the new model carries forward the same changes. The Octavia RS gets redesigned sporty front bumper with integrated fog lamps and black elements. The grille is finished in black colour and it gets signature vRS badge too. The changes to the side include a new set of alloy wheels in either 18 or 19-inch.
The rear gets a new bumper with a black finish for the bumper and dual-exhaust tips to give a sporty feel along with a spoiler. The interior is virtually the same from the hybrid model as it comes with sporty seats while the infotainment system is larger and the company has given carbon fibre elements too. The graphics on the infotainment system and instrument cluster are different from the regular model as it gets RS-specific theme while the seat gets optional massage function too.
Skoda is offering the Octavia RS with two engine options. The petrol engine is a 2.0 L unit, which is already available in so many VW models as it produces 245 hp and 370 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG, the power is sent to front wheels and the company is not offering a four-wheel-drive system not even as an option. 0-100 kph comes in just 6.2 sec and top speed is limited to 250 kph.
The Octavia RS is also available with a 2.0 L diesel engine producing 200 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque. This is the most powerful diesel version of Octavia till now. This engine gets DSG gearbox option only but Skoda offers both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive option. 0-100 kph in 6.8 sec and top speed is 243 kph. Skoda offers progressive steering and an adaptive suspension with Octavia RS and the performance sedan might reach the Indian market sometime in 2022.
