Everyone is behind SUVs or Crossover models and it is evident from the concepts too but Nissan is giving fresh air for everyone as the company has revealed two new sedan concepts at the Auto China 2024. Teaming up with local partner Dongfeng Motor, these vehicles are not just flights of fancy but tangible glimpses into Nissan’s future. CEO Makoto Uchida emphasized their imminent reality during the press conference, hinting at the advanced stages of development. While both sedans are destined for production, the Epoch stands out as a fully electric marvel, set to hit the market within a year.
On the other hand, the EVO, despite its name evoking rally-bred performance, is a plug-in hybrid aimed at delivering family-friendly escapades. Its sleek design, with a daring roofline and a captivating rear, promises to turn heads on the road. Inside the EVO, Nissan takes a page from Tesla’s book, adopting a minimalist approach with controls integrated into a sizable tablet-like display. But unlike its competitors, Nissan ensures a familiar digital instrument cluster for added convenience.
The sedans enter a fiercely competitive market in China, where traditional automakers and newcomers vie for consumer attention. Yet, Nissan remains undeterred, banking on the distinctiveness of its offerings to carve a niche. The unveiling didn’t stop at sedans; Nissan also showcased its upcoming SUV lineup. The electric Epic and plug-in hybrid Era share the same design ethos as their sedan counterparts, promising innovation and versatility. The Epic boasts bidirectional charging capabilities, while the Era boasts luxurious features like air suspension, zero-gravity seats, and four-wheel drive.
