Ford Ranger Pickup Truck Spied Without Camouflage

Ford is one of the most popular brands in India, even after its exit from the Indian market the American manufacturer has a lot of fan following which is why when the news broke that Ford is planning to make a comeback to the Indian market. The Endeavour and Ranger Pickup trucks have already been spotted once. Now the Ranger pickup truck has been spotted once again and without any camouflage. Sharing its underpinnings and engine options with the latest Ford Everest, the Ford Ranger was recently spotted in India for the second time, following an initial sighting in Chennai.

Notably, the Ranger closely resembles the Everest in design cues, featuring a striking large radiator grille, squarish headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs, and shared doors. However, distinct touches like a unique front bumper design and a tailgate stamped with the Ranger name set it apart. Inside, the Ranger mirrors the rugged interior of the Everest, offering a blend of functionality and comfort. From the horizontally oriented touchscreen to the stack of climate control buttons, the cabin exudes a robust appeal with features like ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and Ford Pass-connected car technology.

Under the hood, the Ranger boasts a range of diesel engine options globally, including variants shared with the Everest. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, these engines deliver varying power outputs ranging from 170 HP to 246 HP, catering to diverse driving preferences. Additionally, the Ranger offers both 4×2 and 4×4 drive layouts, with the 3.0-litre V6 engine exclusively available with a full-time 4×4 system. The potential launch of the Ranger in India raises questions about its market reception. While Everest enjoys a strong fan base, the Ranger would debut as a new nameplate in a market where lifestyle pickup trucks have historically seen limited success. However, with the growing off-roading culture and the presence of models like the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max, the timing might be ripe for the Ranger’s entry.
