By Tata Motors is becoming the pioneer of electric vehicles in India. It is rumoured that its flagship SUVs Tata Harrier and Safari might come in its electric version. However, India is going far ahead with the transition to electric vehicles and manufacturers are bringing up more EVs. 2023 could be a year that will witness one of the drastic changes in the automobile industry and the auto expo 2023 is expected to contribute a large part of it.
Tata Harrier was one of the brand’s most popular vehicles that literally changed the perception towards Tata Motors and paved the way for more good products from the brand. The Safari nameplate however did not carry over the legacy of the original Safari. But the 7 seater has a stance on its own for its good looks and styling. The carmaker announced that the SUVs will get a midlife refresh with more added tech and features, that would unveil at the 2023 auto expo. And now it is rumoured that the electric avatar of these SUVs also might be on show up by Tata Motors.
If Tata Motors could bring up the EVs of flagship SUVs it might largely take over the market. The EVs will be priced higher but it is most likely to be priced on the budget of 30 to 40 lakh. As a capable bigger SUV it should come with a bigger battery pack that easily takes the SUV to the range of 500 to 600 km. Tata Motors is gearing up to launch more EVs this year and the first one in that will be the Tata Punch EV. And if the rumours come true we can see the Tata Harrier and Safari in their EV form.
