Maruti Suzuki officially launched the fourth-generation Swift in India. The Swift is one of the most popular models of Maruti in India as the company has sold more than 3 million units over the last 19 years. The new Swift is also based on the Heartect platform like the third-generation model and the design theme is evolutionary as it the design DNA has been retained.
The Swift gets new headlamps with projector and boomerang design for the LED DRL. The grille design is also different while the hood is slightly raised compared to the previous model. The alloy wheels gets a new design and they are 15-inch. The rear gets new LED tail lamps with clear lens design. The boot space is 265 litres and the Swift is available in two new colours – Blue and Orange.
The interior design is inspired from the Baleno with 9-incb touchscreen infotainment system taking the centre stage. The Swift now gets wireless charger and rear AC vents along with fast USB charging ports. One of the major difference is the new 1.2 L Z Series engine with 81 PS and 111 NM, mated to 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. This engine returns 24.8 Kmpl for manual and 25. 75 Kmpl for AMT. The Swift is available in six variants – LXI, VXI, VXI (O), ZXI and ZXI+. We are driving the new Swift soon.
