BMW launched their electric flagship i7 in the country at INR 1.95 crore. The i7 is a largely anticipated model in the country and BMW launched the vehicle with everything the car can offer. Literally, it’s the electrified model of the 7 Series that has only minor changes both inside and outside. The carmaker guarantee that the i7 offers all-electric innovation, visionary design, and powerful driving dynamics. And also the i7 guarantees the most luxurious electric sedan in the world.

The i7 carries a similar design language as the 7 Series. The electric i7 is identified by the blacked-out closed front grille. Just like the 7 Series, the vehicle features a long hood. With a sharp line in the centre. The front fascia is dominated by the large kidney grille. The headlights are stacked with thinner DRL. The front fascia carries overall design elements in front of the 7 Series. Over the side, the 7 Series host the new flush door handles with milder lines and creases. The vehicle runs on 21-inch alloy wheels. The bespoke ground-up designs make the i7 identical to the 7 Series over the rear and side.

The i7 borrows its digital dashboard from the iX SUV, which consists of large floating digital- gauge and infotainment displays. Sandwiched together under a single pane of glass, the two displays offer a clear look at driving data and entertainment features. The interior features a new 2-spoke steering wheel which differentiates it from the 7 Series. The rest of the i7 cabin is completely bespoke, however. It comes with a minimalist dashboard with hidden air vents, and plenty of touch-sensitive buttons under crystal-effect panels on the dashboard and doors There is also an available rear-seat entertainment system featuring a large 31.3-inch screen that drops from the ceiling.

The i7 comes only in one variant i7 x Drive 60 which uses a similar electric powertrain setup as the brand’s new EV SUV, the iX, with two electric motors—one driving each axle—making a combined 544 hp and 745 Nm of torque. All-wheel drive is standard. The new i7 is powered by a 101.7 kWh battery pack which gives an ideal range of 590 to 625 km. The flagship electric sedan comes with two motors driving each axile making the i7 sprint 0 to 100 in 4.7 seconds. We can expect more BMW electric models to be introduced in India.
