Tata Gravitas Exterior And Interior Spied Again

Tata Gravitas is basically the 6/7 seater version of the Harrier and the production model was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company was planning to launch the model around the middle of this year but due to the pandemic, Tata Motors delayed the launch. After a brief gap, the Gravitas has been spotted again on public roads and this time with the TN registration plate as this test mule might be focused on ride and handling package.

The exterior design theme of Gravitas is similar to Harrier as both models share split headlamps design theme with LED DRLs on the top and projector headlamps below it. The alloy wheels are expected to be different from the Harrier while the rear comes with updated tail lamps and a new bumper. The roof also gets a different design theme compared to Harrier and we can expect some new colour options too.

The interior design is likely to be carried over from Harrier as the dashboard on the test mule is exactly same from its 5-seater model. Tata Motors might offer the Gravitas with either 6 or 7-seat options as the overall dimensions can easily accommodate both but the company could focus on comfort. The Gravitas will be packed with lots of features like touch screen infotainment system, connected car features, leather seats and more.

The Gravitas is based on the OMEGA platform, which is derived from Land Rover D7 platform. The SUV will be powered by same 2.0 L diesel engine sourced from FCA with 173 PS and 350 Nm of torque. The transmission options include 6-speed manual and torque convertor from Hyundai. Tata is also expected to offer petrol engine with Gravitas and the launch is likely to take place later this year as it competes against MG Hector Plus.
