Next-Generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire Spotted Testing With Segment First Features

Maruti Suzuki commenced testing of the next-generation Dzire in India even though the hatchback model is yet to be launched in the country. The new Dzire was spotted during cold weather testing but the spy pictures have revealed new details. Maruti will introduce a sunroof on the top-spec version of the Dzire in India and this is the first time, the sunroof has been introduced in the compact sedan segment. The Dzire has always set standards in this segment even with features, space, engine and efficiency.

The design theme of the new-generation model will be similar to the hatchback as it won’t be revolutionary rather than evolution. The front gets new LED headlamps along with an updated grille and a new bumper, which gives a wider look to the compact sedan. One of the major changes coming to the Dzire is that the compact sedan is expected to come with the same doors as the hatchback as earlier models get different rear doors but this will help the company to save cost. The rear gets LED tail lamps along with a new bumper.

The interior is going to be shared with the hatchback model and the Dzire is already loaded with features but we can expect the company to introduce a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system to replace the 7-inch unit on the current model. The new Dzire might get a 360-degree camera and ventilated seats but we are not expecting ADAS to be introduced in the new model. Maruti is expected to offer the same Z-series engine from the Swift and it is expected to come with manual and automatic gearbox options.
