Hyundai Creta and Verna Recalled In India

Hyundai has officially announced a recall of the pre-facelift Creta and the new-generation Verna in India. The CVT automatic petrol variant of both these models has been affected. The recall has been initiated due to a potential issue with the electronic oil pump (EOP) controller. For the Creta IVT, the recall centres around a faulty EOP controller, prompting Hyundai to take proactive measures. The owners of the pre-facelift 2nd-gen Creta are urged to have their vehicles inspected and rectified at their nearest Hyundai authorized dealer.

Although the exact number of affected vehicles hasn’t been disclosed by Hyundai, concerned owners can easily check if their Creta IVT falls under the recall by entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Hyundai India’s official website. Similarly, the new-generation Verna has also been subject to this recall. Owners of the affected batch have begun receiving notifications for inspection and rectification of the EOP controller error. Hyundai has assured customers that the inspection and replacement of the faulty part will be conducted free of charge at Hyundai-authorised dealerships.

Recently, Kia also issued a recall for the Seltos over the same problem. These types of problems usually occur over some time or maybe for a particular batch of vehicles. Recently the company launched the Creta N Line in India at the starting price of Rs. 16.82 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The Creta N Line is powered by a 1.5 L turbo petrol engine with 160 PS of power and this engine is mated to 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT gearbox options. The claimed mileage is 18.4 Kmpl for the automatic variant. We will soon bring you a detailed review of the new Creta N Line.
