Maruti Suzuki is developing the next generation of Dzire, which is expected to be introduced in the coming weeks. Now the model has been spotted testing in India for the first time as the test mule is heavily camouflaged to hide details. The spy shots are from the rear and side which reveals some of the major changes. The fourth generation of Dzire is based on the same platform as the upcoming new generation Swift.
One of the major differences between the outgoing Dzire and the new model is that there are so many parts have been shared with both models which is not the case right now. The front fenders along with doors are shared with the hatchback version as Maruti Suzuki might have decided to do it like this to reduce the overall cost of the development. But the roof line is more flatter than the hatchback while the rear door is a bit different.
The rear gets completely new LED tail lamps along the glass area is also different. Maruti has given a new design for the boot and the bumper is also new. The interior of the new Dzire is expected to be shared with the hatchback while the color theme could be different the features are likely to be the same. Maruti Suzuki Dzire will be powered by the new 1.2 L Z-Series petrol engine with the option of manual and automatic gearbox.
