By Hyundai officially launched a new variant of the i20 in India and it is the Sportz (O) as this new variant is positioned just below the top-spec Asta variant. The Sportz (O) comes with some additional features compared to the Sportz as it gets an electric sunroof, wireless charger, and leatherette finish on the door armrest. These features certainly make the new variant even more attractive as it is already loaded with so many convenient features.
The Sportz (O) variant is priced at a premium of Rs. 35,000 over the Sportz. Hyundai is also offering dual-tone colour options with the Sportz variant and it is priced at Rs. 8.88 lakh. The i20 is available in six variants – Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O), Asta and Asta (O). The Hyundai i20 Sportz variant is powered by a 1.2 L Kappa series petrol engine producing 82 hp and 115 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The automatic gearbox is available from the Sportz variant onwards but the company is not offering it on the new option variant. The last update for the i20 was introduced in September 2023 and most of the changes were cosmetic as the company has made slight tweaks to the design. The i20 is available in Amazon Grey (New), Atlas White, Titan Gray, Typhoon Silver, Starry Night, Fiery Red, Atlas White + Black Roof, and Fiery Red + Black Roof.
