Hyundai Creta EV Spied During Cold Weather Testing

Hyundai is developing an electric version of Creta and the company is testing the model across different terrains. The latest spy shots of Creta EV comes from Shimla as the company is conducting cold weather testing of the new model. The prototype is heavily camouflaged but still, we can make out some of the elements on the new model. Like we have mentioned in our earlier article, the test mule is based on the Creta facelift version.

The front gets split headlamps setup like the ICE version but the grille will be different as it will be closed on the electric version to reduce drag. Some reports indicate that the charging port will be positioned slightly off-centre like those on the Kona electric. Apart from this, the bumper will be slightly different. The prototype comes with a different set of alloy wheels and these are designed to further reduce drag. The alloy wheels look like a 17-inch unit but the company might offer 18-inch on top-end variants.

The rear is also likely to get the same set of tail lamps as the ICE version but the bumper will be different and the EV version won’t get an exhaust pipe. The interior is expected to be shared with the current model but the company might make some changes to the software and the instrument cluster. The Creta EV will be powered by a 45 kWh battery pack and it is expected to be shared with the Kona EV as it produces 138 hp and 255 Nm. The battery will be shared by LG Chem and we can expect a real-world range of 250 km.
