Based on the spy shots, Motor1 published a digital rendering of the new Q3 as it showcases a front fascia overhaul compared to its predecessor, the 2024 A5 Avant. The Singleframe octagonal radiator grille takes center stage, undergoing a size reduction to accommodate more plastic around the area separating it from the lower air intake. Notable changes include a fresh pattern featuring overlapping U-shaped motifs, injecting a dynamic and contemporary vibe into the Q3’s appearance.
The most striking transformation occurs at the front corners, where two substantial rectangular headlights take residence, serving as the low and high beams. These renderings offer a glimpse of the front-end evolution, promising a departure from convention and an embrace of bold, distinctive styling elements. While the rear-end adjustments are not fully visible in the renderings, expectations are for a more conservative redesign. Slimmer taillights, retaining their essential shapes, resemble those captured in spy photos from September. Drawing inspiration from the Q4 E-Tron, the rear lights are expected to share a similar form, albeit without an LED strip connecting them through the boot, as indicated in current renderings.
Under the hood, the third-generation Q3 will mark the conclusion of combustion engines for the model. Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB Evo platform, shared with the new Volkswagen Tiguan, the Q3 is poised for a tech-savvy future. The platform supports various powertrain options, including plug-in hybrid versions boasting significant electric range. The engine lineup is anticipated to mirror that of the Tiguan, encompassing a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid turbo gas engine and a robust 2.0-liter four-banger.
Manufactured in Gyor, Hungary, alongside the new Cupra Terramar, the next-gen Q3 is set to become Audi’s most affordable crossover, with the retirement of the current entry-level Q2. As Audi bids farewell to combustion engines in the Q3 lineup, the upcoming generation promises a harmonious blend of cutting-edge design, advanced technology, and eco-friendly performance.
