Land Rover Discovery Facelift Unveiled With New Tech And Engines

Land Rover introduced the new generation Discovery in 2017. Since then the competition has caught up and the Discovery started to show up its age. To give it a fresh feel, Land Rover unveiled the facelift model of Discovery with cosmetic as well as mechanical changes. The exterior design changes are minor as the Discovery comes with updated grille along with new bumper while the headlamps are also new with LED DRLs.

The side design remains to be same except for new alloy wheels design. While the rear get even more subtle changes as the Discovery name plate is now placed between the tail lamps as it gives the look of a full length tail lamp. The rear bumper is also new and the company offers aggressive R-dynamic variant, which comes with glossy black finish on various elements like grille, bumper, alloy wheels, body cladding etc. The side curtains of R-dynamic variant is also different.

The interior of Discovery gets lots of changes like updated steering wheel along with tablet like 11.4 inch touch screen infotainment system with latest Pivi Pro software, which made its debut on the Defender. The updated system gets connected car features along with OTA updates too. The new system is far improved than the previous 10-inch touch pro system. Land Rover also redesigned the gear lever as the earlier models come with rotary dial knob.

The AC for the second row is placed on the centre console rather than on the B-pillar and thigh support has also been improved. Land Rover Discovery now comes with a new range of Ingenium series engines from Jaguar as the entry level model comes with updated 2.0 L petrol engine with 300 PS while the 3.0 L V6 petrol engine puts out 360 hp and the diesel engine produces 250 hp and 300 hp with the mild-hybrid system to improve fuel economy. Land Rover is expected to launch Discovery facelift next year in India.
