By Kia India released a new teaser of the upcoming compact SUV Sonet ahead of the global debut on August 7. The teaser video partially revealed the rear of Sonet as it gets slim LED tail lamps with a small cube inside the cluster and both of them are connected by a small reflector strip with Kia logo in the middle. The number plate is placed on the lower part of the bumper with reflectors on both side and faux skid plate too.
The Sonet also gets integrated spoiler on the top variants, which gives a sporty look for the compact SUV. The front design is likely to be similar to the concept showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo as the Korean manufacturer has given LED headlamps and fog lamps along with a new bumper and faux skid plates too. Kia has given black plastic cladding across the body for SUV look and the wheels are expected to be 17-inch.
The interior will be modern like the Seltos and we can expect the quality of materials to be good. Kia has packed the Sonet with lots of features like touch screen infotainment system with connected car features, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay premium sound system, panoramic sunroof, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear-AC vents, electronically controlled exterior mirrors, keyless entry, voice commands and more.
Kia Sonet is based on the same platform as Hyundai Venue as both models share the same engine and features except for the design. The compact SUV will be powered by 1.0 L turbo and 1.2 L petrol engines with 1.5 L diesel engine too. Like the Venue, Kia will offer iMT transmission with the Sonet too. The market launch of Sonet is expected to take place in September and it will be priced competitively against the competition.
