Force Gurkha 5-Door To Get Seven-Seater Option

Force officially released a new teaser of the Gurkha 5-door model as the company is gearing up to launch the new model in India. The Gurkha 5-door has been extensively tested across different parts of the country and the latest spy shots revealed that the lifestyle SUV comes with a seven-seater option as the second row gets a bench seat while the third row gets individual seats with adjustable arm-rest, improves the overall comfort for rear passengers but we have already seen different configurations of the Gurkha.

The Indian manufacturer confirmed that the three-door model, which was discontinued in April last year because of the BS6 Phase-II norms will also make a comeback. in India along with the new five-door model but in the teaser, the video shows only the 5-door model. The Gurkha 5-door follows the footsteps of the three-door model as the overall design theme is similar for both models but still, the company has made some changes. Another major change coming to the lifestyle SUV is the addition of 18-inch alloy wheels instead of 16-inch on the three-door model.

The interior design is expected to be similar to the earlier three-door model but the company will add a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which is very useful, especially during off-roading. The mechanical updates for the new Gurkha include a better four-wheel drive system as we have already seen the test mule of Gurkha with a shift-on-fly toggle switch, unlike the proper low-range gear. The Gurkha will be powered by an updated 2.6 L diesel engine with 90 PS and 250 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
