Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV Officially Revealed

Citroen officially revealed the Basalt Coupe SUV as it is the third model from the C family of products. The French manufacturer revealed the exterior design theme of the Basalt Coupe SUV. The front design is similar to the current generation of C-series products as the headlamps and LED DRL are shared with the C3 and C3 Aircross but the front bumper gets a slight redesign with integrated fog lamps in it. For the SUV look, the company has given faux skid plates at the front and back with black plastic cladding across the body.

The side design is interesting as the designers have given a coupe-like theme for the roof giving a distinct look to the Basalt. The overall dimension is not yet revealed but reports indicate that the coupe SUV could measure 4.3 metres which is the same as the C3 Aircross. The company has also given good ground clearance for the Basalt as it is going to be one of the USPs of the model. The door handles are the same ones which is also found in C3 Aircross as they should have given more premium handles.

The rear gets C-shape LED tail lamps which look unique and the bumper design is different from other Citroen products. The Basalt gets a shark-fin antenna and the boot-space is expected to be class-leading. The interior has not yet been revealed but we can expect the company to give a different design theme compared to current products and it is likely to be loaded with features. The Basalth Coupe SUV engine details are under the cover but it could be the same engine and gearbox combination from C3 Aircross. The launch is expected to take place later this year.
