Yamaha R3 Launched In India At Rs. 4.65 Lakh

Yamaha officially launched the R3 in India at the starting price of Rs. 4.65 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The company has introduced the naked version of the R3, which is MT-03 in the Indian market. Both these models are priced at a premium as the company import the performance bikes from Indonesia which makes them expensive. One of the USPs of the R3 is its design theme as it is inspired by the bigger motorcycles in Yamaha’s lineup like the flagship R1, R6 and R7 as the full fairing gives a sporty look to the performance motorcycle.

The front gets dual LED headlamps with air intake in the middle while the indicators are placed in the middle of the fairing. Yamaha has given an aggressive riding stance for the R3 with rear set foot pegs and the performance bike gets split seats too. The clip-on handlebar is placed slightly lower for a sporty riding stance and the rear gets LED tail lamps as the design theme is similar to other R series of bikes. The fully-faired performance bikes get upside-down forks at the front and mono-shock at the rear.

The braking duties are taken care of by disc brakes at both ends as the front gets 298 mm disc and 220 mm disc at the rear. The wheels are 17-inch which is the same as the MT-03 with 110/70 section tyre at the front and 140/70 section tyre at the rear. The R3 is powered by a 321 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 41.4 BHP @ 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm @ 9,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox but the R3 doesn’t get the slip and assist clutch, which was expected at this price.
