Yamaha MT-03 Officially Launched In India At Rs. 4.60 Lakh

Yamaha officially launched the MT-03 in India at the starting price of Rs. 4.60 Lakh (Ex-Showroom), which is on the expensive end for a 300 cc motorcycle as the Japanese manufacturer imports the model to India from Indonesia, which is why the price is high. The earlier MT-03 came to India via the CKD route and the price was a bit more affordable. The MT-03 is one of the most awaited models to be introduced in India as its elder sibling MT-15 is extremely popular among youngsters thanks to its design theme.

The design theme of MT-03 is similar to the MT-15 as the aggressive-looking LED headlamps give a beast-like appearance while the muscular design of the fuel tank elevates the overall design. Yamaha has given split seats for the MT-03 and the rear gets LED tail lamps. The suspension duties are taken care of by upside-down forks at the front and mono-shocks at the rear with 125 mm travel. We have yet to ride the bike but if can consider the MT-15 as a baseline then the handling will be really good while comfort won’t be a priority.

Yamaha has given disc brakes at the front and rear with 298 mm disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The wheels are 17-inch as the front gets 110/70 section tyres and 140/70 section tyres at the rear. The ground clearance is 160 mm while the seat height is 780 mm. The MT-03 is powered by a 321 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine producing 41.4 BHP @ 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm @ 9,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
