Skoda To Launch Superb By The Middle of 2024

Skoda India confirmed earlier that the company is planning to re-introduce the Superb in India by the middle of 2024 as it was one of the most popular models in its segments thanks to European-built quality along with space and punchy engines. According to Petr Janeba, brand director of Skoda Auto India, the company has two strategic areas in which they have heavily localised products based on the MQB AO IN from the Pune plant and on the other hand, CKD models like the Superb are coming from the Aurangabad plant.

Initially, Skoda will be introducing the previous generation of the Superb in India and it will come as fully imported models. The Superb will be available only in the top-end L&K trim as it will come with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for the first time in a Skoda model. These include lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control, capable of handling speeds up to 210kph. Additionally, the Superb will feature park assist with a 360-degree camera, ensuring a seamless parking experience.

Earlier reports indicated that Skoda is planning to introduce a diesel engine in India with the Superb as it is already available in global markets and it will make the Superb more popular among customers. Apart from the diesel engine, the Superb will come with a 2.0 L TSI engine that produces 190 hp of power and comes mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. In 2025, Skoda is planning to introduce the next-generation Superb even though the new model has been already revealed it is yet to go on sale in International markets.
