Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Production Model Revealed

Royal Enfield officially showcased the Shotgun 650 for the first time at Motoverse, which was a limited edition version. Now the company has officially revealed the production version which the customers can buy at the dealership. The major difference between the limited edition and the mass-market model is the paint job. The limited edition version from Motoverse gets a special hand-painted colour for the fuel tank, which makes it special as Royal Enfield is known for its unique paint finishes.

The production version Shotgun 650 is available in four different colours – Green Drill, Plasma Blue, Sheet Metal Grey and Stencil White. The Shotgun 650 is based on the Meteor 650 but the engineers have made some changes as the seating is upright and the handlebar is flatter too. The foot pegs are placed slightly towards the middle, which offers a comfortable riding position. The wheelbase and overall length are slightly shorter compared to the Meteor 650 while the seat height is 795 mm. Royal Enfield reduced the fuel tank capacity by 2 litres.

The suspension duties are taken care of by the same upside-down forks at the front and dual-shock absorbers at the rear but the engineers have made some changes to the tuning, which will be slightly different for the changes in dimensions. The Shotgun 650 is powered by the same 648 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine producing 47 hp of power and 52.3 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox while the braking duties are taken care of by the same brakes and the Shotgun 650 gets dual-channel ABS too.
