Renault Megane E-Tech Spied In India

Renault Megane E-Tech was spotted in India for the first time. The Megane E-Tech represents the French automaker’s strategic response to the growing demand for electric vehicles globally and particularly in India. Designed to rival established players like the Hyundai Kona Electric, the Megane E-Tech offers a compelling combination of performance, range, and innovative features. Drawing inspiration from the 2020 Megane eVision concept, the Megane E-Tech boasts a sleek and contemporary design.

The Megane E-Tech gets cladding along the lower periphery and eye-catching contrasting inserts on the bumpers, the vehicle exudes a modern yet refined aesthetic. Inside, Renault’s signature OpenR display takes centre stage, featuring a seamless integration of a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 12-inch portrait-style infotainment touchscreen. Underneath its stylish exterior, the Megane E-Tech rides on the advanced CMF-EV platform, offering flexibility and performance optimization. With two battery pack options – 40kWh and 60kWh – and two motor outputs to choose from, drivers can tailor their driving experience to suit their preferences.

The range-topping variant delivers an impressive 470km range, setting new standards for electric vehicles in its class. While Renault’s plans for the Indian market remain undisclosed, the sighting of the Megane E-Tech suggests a strategic evaluation of the country’s EV landscape. With the potential for an entry-level EV based on the CMF-A EV platform under consideration and the impending launch of the all-new Duster in 2025, Renault appears poised to make significant strides in India’s automotive market.
