MG Hector and Hector Plus Is Now More Affordable

MG officially revised the price of Hector and Hector Plus in India. Most of the manufacturers increased the price last month but MG is taking a different approach which is why the company reduced the price of both Hector and Hector Plus. The petrol Hector now starts at Rs. 14.94 lakh, which is Rs. 6000 less than the earlier model but the big price cut is for the diesel as the price has come down by Rs. 79,000 as the diesel Hector starts at Rs. 17.50 lakh (Both prices, Ex-Showroom).

Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, MG Motor India said “This has been made possible due to increased localisation, long-term freight contracts, streamlined logistics, supply chain improvement, and long-term key commodities cost rationalisation.” MG is offering the Hector in six variants – Style, Shine, Smart, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro while the Hector Plus is available in Smart, Sharp, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro. The British manufacturer is also offering the Hector Plus in both six-seater and seven-seater options.

The Hector and Hector Plus is available in both diesel and petrol options. The 1.5 L petrol engine produces 141 bhp of power at 5,000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1600 – 3,600 rpm. This engine is available in both manual and automatic gearbox options. The 2.0 L diesel engine does duty on several models in India and it produces 168 bhp of power at 3,750 rpm and 350 Nm of torque at 1,750 – 2,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The company has also revised the price of Comet.
