Skoda Slavia and Kushaq Gets 6 Airbags As Standard

Skoda India officially announced that the Slavia and Kushaq get six airbags as standard. This decision aligns with the brand’s commitment to prioritizing passenger safety. The move, however, comes with a slight increase in prices, with the Kushaq now priced between Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 19.79 lakh, and the Slavia ranging from Rs 11.63 lakh to Rs 18.83 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, India). Previously, the six airbag configuration was limited to the top-spec Style trim, leaving lower variants with only two airbags.

Now, with the standardization of six airbags across the range, customers can enjoy enhanced safety features regardless of the trim level they choose. The price increase for entry-level variants is a modest Rs 10,000. Both the Kushaq and Slavia have already earned a prestigious 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP, further solidifying their commitment to safety. In addition to the six airbags, other safety features include ESC, multi-collision braking system, TPMS, brake assist, and traction control.

In comparison to its rivals, such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Verna, and Honda City, which offer six airbags as standard, the Skoda models now stand on equal footing in terms of safety features. Despite the commendable safety enhancements, the performance remains unchanged under the hood. Both the Kushaq and Slavia retain their powerful engine options, including the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 115hp and 150Nm of torque, as well as the 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine generating 150hp and 250Nm of torque. These engines are paired with manual or automatic transmission options, ensuring a dynamic driving experience.
