Kia EV9 Spotted In India For The First Time

Kia EV9 was spotted in India for the first time. The company had plans to launch the EV9 in India as it was confirmed by former CEO Tae Jin Park. Kia already sells the EV6 in the Indian market as it is the only electric model of the company currently in our market. The prototype could be used by some higher officials of Kia or Hyundai as it doesn’t hide anything even the badges. Kia had already showcased the EV9 Concept at last year’s Auto Expo and the design theme is certainly one of the highlights of the electric SUV.

The production version of EV9 made its global debut in March 2023 and it is a revolutionary product. Kia is following a top-down approach for EVs as the initial models will be on the premium like the EV6 and EV9 but an all-new electric model for the Indian market is under development which is expected to be launched sometime in 2025 which will be a mass market model. The EV9 is based on the E-GMP platform, which is already used by lots of Hyundai and Kia models which does make it easier for the company to price the model.

The EV9 RWD model comes with a single 215 BHP motor coupled with a robust 76.1 kWh battery, delivering an impressive range of 358 km. For those seeking extended journeys, the long-range version offers a substantial 99.8 kWh battery, providing an expansive 541 km range. Additionally, enthusiasts can opt for the SUV’s dual-motor setup, generating a combined 380 BHP output for enhanced performance. The launch of the EV9 is likely to take place towards the second half of this year.
