Maruti Suzuki increased the price of Swift ahead of the new-generation model. The price hike ranges from Rs. 15,000- Rs. 39,000. The ZXI+ variant takes the brunt of the increment with a Rs 39,000 raise for the manual version. Conversely, the VXI, VXI AMT, and VXI CNG variants witness a milder increase of Rs 15,000.
The remaining models see a bump of Rs 25,000. Despite the price adjustments, there are no visual or mechanical alterations to the Swift. Under the hood, the Swift continues to be powered by a reliable 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine generating 90hp and 113Nm of peak torque. This engine configuration remains unchanged, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional 5-speed AMT, ensuring a dynamic driving experience.
The timing of the price hike is notable, as it precedes the launch of the next-generation Swift slated for mid-May 2024. This tactic is common in the automotive industry, where manufacturers often increase prices of outgoing models just before introducing a new generation. By doing so, carmakers aim to position the incoming model as a more appealing and competitively priced option compared to its predecessor.
