By Hyundai officially introduced the new generation Verna couple of months back in the Indian market. During the launch, the company claimed that they are expecting 2X sales for the new model and there prediction is correct as the Verna is the best selling sedan in it’s segment. The sales of Verna is the double of it’s nearest competitor which makes it the clear segment leader.
The Korean manufacturer sold 3687 units last month while the nearest competitor is Skoda Slavia with 1696 units followed by 1631 units for Volkswagen Virtus and 1532 units for the Honda City. All the models in this segment are new as VW twins were introduced last year while the City received an update just before Verna. Citroen will join this segment next year with it’s revolutionary product.
