By Honda officially launched the updated Dio in the Indian market at the starting price of Rs. 70,211 for the standard variant, Rs. 74,212 for the Deluxe variant and the new top of the line Smart is priced at Rs. 77,712 (All Prices, Ex-Showroom). The standard and deluxe variants price increased by Rs. 1586 compared to the earlier model along with new graphics and Pearl Ingenious Black colour.
The major update is the new H-Smart technology as it is already available in Activa series. The H-Smart technology has four smart features – Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Safe and Smart Start. The Smart Find works if you’re within 10 metres of the scooter then all four indicators will flash to let you know the location of the vehicle.The Smart Unlock features will unlock the handle, fuel lid and seat if you are within two metres of the scooter. The Smart Safe feature automatically locks the scooter if you are two metres away from the scooter and unlocks it if you are within two metres of the scooter. The Smart Start feature is that the scooter can be simply turned on by flipping the key and pushing the start button.
Honda Dio continues to be powered by the same engine from earlier models but it has been updated to meet the latest emission norms and it produces 7.76 PS of power and 9 Nm of torque. The Standard variant doesn’t get any features as you need to upgrade to the Deluxe variant for an LED headlamp, digital instrument cluster and contrasting wheels.
