Hyundai is gearing up to launch its second electric model – Ioniq 5 in the Indian market. The bookings are expected to be opened on December 20th but the launch will take place at the 2023 Auto Expo happening in January. The Ioniq 5 comes to India via the CBU route same as the Kia EV6 as both of them are based on the same platform. The Korean car maker hasn’t confirmed the battery pack yet but some reports indicate that Hyundai wants to price the Ioniq 5 cheaper than EV6 which might result in a small battery pack. The company has also begun road testing of the next-generation Verna and it is likely to be launched sometime towards the end of 2023 in India.
