Honda Dio 125 Instrument Cluster Teased

Honda released a couple of new teasers of its upcoming Dio 125 scooter as the Dio nameplate is popular among younger customers. The Dio is currently available only with a 110 cc engine and the introduction of this higher engine will certainly help the company to increase its market share in this premium segment. Honda is facing intense competition from TVS, Suzuki and Hero as the Activa is the only model from Honda which sell in good numbers. The latest teaser of Dio 125 reveals its digital instrument cluster and it is similar to the one we have seen in other Honda products.

The speedometer is displayed in the center with a tachometer placed near it. We can also see the side stand indicator along with other signals and PGM-Fi badging on the cluster. The new Dio 125 will get H-Smart Tech as it is confirmed by the Key fob signal. The H-Smart technology has four smart features – Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Safe and Smart Start. The Smart Find works if you’re within 10 metres of the scooter then all four indicators will flash to let you know the location of the vehicle. The Smart Unlock features will unlock the handle, fuel lid and seat if you are within two metres of the scooter.

The Smart Safe feature automatically locks the scooter if you are two metres away from the scooter and unlocks it if you are within two metres of the scooter. The Smart Start feature is that the scooter can be simply turned on by flipping the key and pushing the start button. The Dio 125 will be powered by a 124 cc engine with 8.19 bhp of power at 6,250 rpm and 10.4 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a CVT gearbox and the braking duties are taken care of by a disc brake at the front and a drum at the rear. Stay tuned for further updates.
