By Honda officially released the first teaser of the City facelift on its social media channels as the official launch is expected to take place tomorrow. The facelift model has already reached dealerships, which revealed most of the changes ahead of the launch. Honda City is the best-selling model in its segment but the sedan is facing stiff competition from European rivals and Hyundai is also planning to introduce the next-generation Verna this month.
The biggest update for the City is in the engine lineup as the sedan will be only available with petrol because the Japanese have decided to discontinue the diesel engine. To meet the new emission norms, Honda needs to invest a lot of money in diesel engines which is not worth it. The 1.5 L petrol engine produces 121 hp and the hybrid engine produces 126 PS. The non-hybrid comes with both manual and auto while the Hybrid comes only with an e-CVT gearbox.
