One of the reasons for the failure of Ford in India is the lack of new products. The American manufacturer is indeed planning to make a come back in India and this time they are not going to make the same mistake as earlier. The company is planning to introduce multiple new products on various segments.
Ford has now officially patented a new design in India and it is going to be a compact SUV, which is going to be the rival for Hyundai Creta. This model was rumoured for a very long time as the company was planning to develop it with Mahindra but the plan eventually got dropped. But the design theme appears to be Ford and it does look different from any other models which the company is offering on global markets. This new SUV is likely to be manufactured in India.
The American manufacturer might make India an export hub for this particular model. The front gets new grille with Ford logo in the middle and the overall body shape could be similar to Creta/Seltos. The interior will be modern and Ford might take inspirations from some of the international models. The engines lineup is not confirmed it yet as the company might offer both petrol and diesel engines.
