By Skoda officially announced its new compact SUV, which is going to be launched in the Indian market next year. The introduction of a new compact SUV is expected to take place in February while the global debut might take place in January at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Apart from the launch, the only other detail is that it will be based on the MQB AO IN platform, which already underpins the Kushaq and Slavia. During the annual media conference, Skoda released a teaser of the compact SUV, which gave us a sneak peek into the front design theme.
The overall design theme of the compact SUV is expected to be in line with other global Skoda models. The teaser image shows the front of the compact SUV as it is likely to get a split headlamps design theme with LED DRLs positioned on the top. The headlamps are expected to be full LED units. Apart from this, we didn’t know anything about the design theme of the compact SUV. The wheels are expected to be 16-inch and the alloy wheels design could be similar to what we have already seen on current models.
The interior design theme is expected to be modern and it could get a similar design like the Kushaq and Slavia. Skoda will pack the compact SUV with features like a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, sunroof, ventilated seats, digital instrument cluster and more. The upcoming compact SUV will be powered by 1.0 L TSI engine producing 115 PS and 158 Nm, this engine will be mated to manual and automatic gearbox. Skoda might not offer the 1.5 L TSI engine because of the pricing.
