BMW To Launch Third Generation X6 In India On June 11

BMW will officially launch the third generation of X6 in India on June 11. The German manufacturer teased the coupe SUV in Instagram, which confirmed the launch as the bookings for new model commenced earlier this year but the company decided to postpone the launch due to nationwide lockdown. The third generation of the X6 made its global debut last year and the model has been so popular around the world.

The updated X6 is based on the new CLAR platform of BMW and it is also used in the latest generation of X5. The exterior design theme largely remains the same as earlier model but the front gets revised kidney grille along with LED headlamps and new bumper while the side gets redesigned alloy wheels and the coupe design theme makes it stand out of the car park while the LED tail lamps design is similar to other modern BMW’s with Quad Exhaust.

The interior of X6 follows the same design theme as other BMW models. The instrument cluster is fully digital and the infotainment system is a 12.3-inch unit as standard with Apple CarPlay. BMW has packed the X6 with features like wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, advanced gesture controls and more. The company has also focused on safety and the X6 comes with blind-spot detection, forward collision warning and park distance control.

Initially, BMW is expected to offer the X6 with a single petrol engine option, which is the 3.0 L six-cylinder turbo unit producing 340 hp and 450 Nm. This engine is mated to 8-speed automatic and four-wheel-drive system is standard. In coming months, the company is likely to offer more engine options including diesel and powerful petrol engines. The X6 will be available in two trims – xLine and MSport. BMW X6 is expected to be priced around 98 lakh (Ex-Showroom).
