Hyundai Verna Is The Best Selling Executive Sedan In May 2020

Hyundai Verna has managed to beat its rivals to become the best selling executive sedan in May 2020 as the Korean manufacturer sold 317 units. Even though when compared to May 2019, growth has declined by 88 per cent as the company sold 2567 units in the same period. Hyundai was one of the first manufacturers in the country to re-open its dealerships and manufacturing plant after the fourth stage of lockdown protocols.

The updated Verna was introduced during the lockdown period but the dealer dispatch had already begun so most dealerships had the new Verna in stock after the nationwide lockdown. Thanks to the facelift model, sales have improved and Hyundai is getting excellent response from the customers as the Korean manufacturer is producing more than 1000 cars per day for the first time after lockdown to meet the demand.

Hyundai has also introduced ‘Click To Buy’, which is the online sales platform of the company as they have developed it in a user-friendly way thus promoting more customers to buy its products online. The initial response is excellent as they have received more than 15,000 enquiries. The updated Verna had lots of changes as the front get new signature grille of Hyundai along with revised LED headlamps and a new bumper with projector fog lamps.

The changes to the side are limited to a new set of alloy wheels while the rear gets a new bumper and tweaked LED tail lamps. The interior has lots more changes too, which includes new digital instrument cluster and the design is similar to the new BMW 3 Series. The centre console has been redesigned and it now gets a new touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Hyundai has also packed the Verna with lots of features like Bluelink, ventilated seats and more.

Hyundai Verna is available with three engine options. The 1.5 L petrol engine produces 115 PS and 144 Nm, mated to 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox. The diesel engine is the same 1.5 L unit from Creta with 115 PS and 250 Nm, mated to 6-speed manual and torque convertor. Hyundai is also offering 1.0 L turbo petrol engine from Venue with 120 PS and 177 Nm, mated to 7-speed DCT gearbox. We will soon bring a detailed review of all the new Verna.
