BMW To Launch New i7 and 7 Series In January

BMW is planning to launch the next generation 7 series and the new i7 next month in India. The German manufacturer has recently three new models in the Indian market – XM, 340i LCI and updated S1000 RR at the BMW Joytown festival in Delhi. After the success of its first event in Delhi, BMW is planning to conduct more of these events across the country as the next stop will be Mumbai followed by Bangalore. The launch of the new 7 Series and i7 is expected to take place at this event.

The current generation of 7 Series is in its seventh generation and it is codenamed G70. The flagship sedan is packed with lots of features and continues to make the new design theme more elegant than the previous iteration. The front grille is elongated with a more polygonal outline while the hood is flat and the sedan now comes with split headlamps set up, which get laser lights for precession. On the inside, the 7 series is aimed to create a harmonious combination of materials and technology that provides space. The dash is very attractive and details like the hidden AC vents make it so unique.

The 7 series is most likely powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six diesel, 3.0 inline-six petrol, and 4.4 litres twin-turbo V8 engine these engines produce a maximum power of 299 bhp, 380 bhp, and 543 bhp respectively. The new i7 is powered by a 101 kWh battery pack which gives an ideal range of 590 to 625 km. the i7 produces 536 bhp and the power is given to 2 electric motors –one driving each axle, making the i7 sprint 0 to 100 in 4.1 seconds. We are expecting BMW to initially bring these models as CBU and then move to the CKD route.
