BMW 530d And M5 Competition Discontinued In India

BMW 5 Series is one of the best executive luxury sedans in the market as it offers the perfect blend between sport and comfort. The range-topping 530d is extremely popular among customers but the model had a huge waiting time which force people to opt for the less powerful diesel variants. Now the company has silently discontinued the 530d from its India lineup along with the flagship M5 competition, which is the sportiest version of the 5-Series.

Now the 5- Series lineup in India is only available with four-cylinder engines. Along with the 530d, the company has also removed the luxury line from the diesel variant and instead, the entry-level 520d is now available in M-Sport trim. The changes for the variant include sporty looking M-bumper at the front and rear along with 18-inch M-Sport alloy wheels while the changes to the interior include an M-Sport steering wheel along with other M elements inside the cabin.

BMW has also added some new features like Laser LED headlamps, 360-degree camera, Harman Kardon music system, and wireless charger to name a few. The 520d M-Sport is powered by a 2.0 L diesel engine producing 190 hp of power and this engine is already available in many other BMW models. The starting price of the 520d M-Sport is Rs. 68.90 lakh and the petrol variant comes at Rs. 65.40 lakh (Both Ex-Showroom). BMW is expected to introduce the long-wheelbase next-gen 5 Series in 2024.
