Volkswagen Polo Facelift Revealed With Mini Golf Looks

Volkswagen finally took the wraps off the much-awaited Polo facelift. The updated model comes with Golf inspired looks as the front gets matrix LED headlamps on the top-end variant, while the bumper gets a new design and air-intakes are bigger too. The fog lamps are projectors and they get a new design. The top-spec models now get LED DRLs, which integrate into the grille and it looks similar to the new generation Golf as it gives a family look.

The changes to the side are limited to just a new design for the alloy wheels as they are either 15 or 16 inches. The rear gets new LED tail lamps, which extend into the boot. The lower bumper is also new and Volkswagen offer some new colour options. The R-package on the Polo further gives a sporty look. The interior also gets lots of changes but the dashboard design is carried over from the earlier model as the engineers integrated the bigger screen without redesigning.

The Polo now gets a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and connected car tech. The lower portion of the centre console comes with the climate control system, which comes from the Tiguan facelift model. The instrument cluster is a 10.25-inch system with lots of customising options. The dashboard quality has improved but space is the same as the old model and the hatchback is loaded with features.

In Europe, Volkswagen offers Polo two engine options. The 1.0 L naturally aspirated engine with 85 PS while the 1.0 L TSI engine is available with two engine options – 95 PS and 110 PS. These engines are mated to either manual or automatic gearbox options. We are expecting Volkswagen to offer the next-generation Polo in India by the end of next year and the engine options could be the same 1.0 L TSI engine from the current Polo.
