Tata Punch CNG Production Begins, Launch Soon

Tata Motors showcases the Punch CNG at the 2023 Auto Expo as the company is expanding the CNG lineup with lots of new models in the pipeline. According to reports, the company has already begun production of the Punch CNG as the micro-SUV segment is heating up with the introduction of Hyundai Exter which is why the company plans to launch the new model immediately as the Korean manufacturer offers CNG from the launch itself and customers in this segment tend to prefer CNG.

The Punch CNG gets the company’s twin-cylinder technology which made its debut in the Altroz last month. The micro-SUV will come with 30 litres of the split-CNG tank as it won’t compromise the boot space like other models and it is going to give a big advantage for the Punch over the Exter. Apart from this, when compared to the standard model Tata Motors will offer the Punch CNG version with a sunroof and it will be available in more than one variant. We can expect Tata Motors to offer Punch CNG in top-spec variant too.

The engine in question will be the same 1.2 L that does duty on regular models but the power will be reduced to 77 hp of power and 97 Nm of torque from 86 hp and 113 Nm. This engine is mates to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Punch CNG comes with features like a touchscreen infotainment system, Android auto, Apple CarPlay, 16-inch alloy wheels and more. The price of Punch CNG will be slightly higher than the petrol model but it will be par among Hyundai Exter.
