Next-Generation Mercedes Benz GLA Spotted For The First Time

Mercedes Benz GLA is in its second generation which made its debut in 2019 it is one of the most popular models of the German manufacturer around the world as it is the entry-level SUV offering. The current-generation GLA is expected to get an update sometime later this year or early next year but the company has already begun work on the next generation model and the first prototype has been spotted testing on public roads but it wears the body of the existing model to hide details.

The design theme is likely to be completely new but we can’t judge on it currently as there is no preview. The major difference is going to be the big battery pack that is coming for the new version as it is possible from the prototype as the engineers are still working on the placement which is why it can be seen from the outside. Apart from this, the ground clearance is likely to be slightly more than the current model to accommodate the bigger battery pack while the wheel size is not expected to be bigger.

The new GLA won’t be available with ICE engines as the company will only offer hybrid engines as they need to meet the upcoming Euro emission norms. The battery pack size is going to be much larger than existing ones and they can be charged using AC OR DC fast charging. Mercedes will also offer a fully electric version of the GLA which wont be called EQA as the company is planning to phase out the EQ brand gradually from next-year onwards. We can expect more details to be revealed in the coming months of the next-generation GLA.
