These facelifts represent a significant transformation for both SUVs, featuring a thorough overhaul in terms of exterior and interior design, a slew of new features, and even some mechanical enhancements. One of the most anticipated pieces of information is the price announcement for these updated SUVs, set to be unveiled on October 17. According to insider sources within the Tata Motors dealer network, deliveries are slated to kick off by late October or in the early days of November.
The exterior makeover for the Harrier and Safari is nothing short of striking. To establish a unified family appearance within their SUV lineup, Tata Motors has gifted these models with revamped front and rear ends. Notable features include full-width LED light bars, a reimagined split headlamp design, pronounced bumpers, and a fresh palette of bold colour choices. The top-tier trims even boast impressive 19-inch alloy wheels. As for the interiors, Tata has left no stone unturned in ensuring a premium experience for passengers.
The dashboard sports larger infotainment screens, measuring up to a spacious 12.3 inches. A new digital instrument cluster with navigation, a sleek four-spoke steering wheel featuring a backlit logo, and a redesigned dashboard finish add to the upscale ambience. The Harrier and Safari’s trim options, now designated as “Personas,” introduce unique exterior and interior elements to cater to varying tastes. Moreover, Tata has enhanced the feature set substantially. Both SUVs offer dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a 10-speaker JBL sound system, paddle shifters for automatic variants, rear window sunshades, and ventilated, memory-powered front seats. The Safari goes one step further with seat ventilation for the second row. Safety has also been elevated, with up to seven airbags, six of which are standard across the range.
Underneath the hood, the Harrier and Safari retain their robust 2.0-litre diesel engine, generating 170 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, both driving the front wheels. A notable change is the transition to Electric Power Steering, replacing the older hydraulic system, and introducing steering modes that work in conjunction with the drive modes. Tata’s commitment to delivering style, features, and performance is evident in the refreshed Harrier and Safari.
