Tata Harrier and Safari Facelift Officially Revealed

Tata Harrier and Safari Facelift Officially Revealed

Tata Motors has taken the wraps off the highly anticipated facelifts of its Harrier and Safari SUVs, unveiling a host of exciting updates. While the mechanical aspects of these SUVs remain unchanged, the exterior and interior have received comprehensive makeovers. One of the most striking changes is seen in the front fascia. Both the Harrier and Safari now feature an all-new bumper, distinguished by a bold black band that separates the upper and lower sections. The upper grille has been widened and sharpened, and it showcases a full-width LED light bar, making a bold statement. The lower section includes a central air intake with robust plastic cladding. These areas also sport contrasting inserts, adding to the visual appeal.

The headlamp clusters have been repositioned towards the edges, giving the SUVs a wider stance. These headlamps are housed within C-shaped enclosures, similar to the design seen in the new Nexon. The side profile remains largely unchanged, with the exception of updated five-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, there are revisions to the tail-lamp band with new LED internals and a sleeker appearance. The rear bumper also features new reflector protrusions and a glossy black finish for the skid plate.

Inside, the updates continue with a revamped interior. The central touchscreen is now a standalone unit, available in two sizes: 10.25-inch or 12.3-inch, depending on the trim level. The interior materials have been refreshed, featuring a textured top panel, gloss black surfaces, and leatherette padding with contrast stitching. A slim strip of LED ambient lighting underlines these elements. The SUVs also come with a touch-based HVAC control panel, a new four-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo, and a 10.25-inch customizable digital instrument cluster with navigation. The center console area has been reworked, including a shorter gear lever for automatic variants and a new rotary dial for the drive mode selector.

Tata Motors has not skimped on features either, offering up to 19-inch alloy wheels with aero inserts, dual-zone automatic AC, a 10-speaker JBL sound system, paddle shifters for automatic variants, rear window sunshades, ventilated and powered front seats with memory function, gesture-controlled powered tailgate, and Bi-LED projector headlamps. Safety features have been enhanced with up to 7 airbags, and an ADAS suite is available. The Harrier and Safari are now more distinct from each other, especially in terms of their front-end designs. The Safari boasts a broader grille and unique headlamps positioned higher up. While their profiles remain similar, the Safari gets distinctive 19-inch wheels. Inside, differentiation primarily comes through different finishing materials.

Under the hood, both SUVs retain their 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engines with 170hp and 350Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. They also come with Terrain response modes and multiple drive modes, and Tata Motors claims suspension improvements to better handle varying road conditions. With bookings now open for a token amount of Rs 25,000, the eagerly awaited price announcements for these refreshed SUVs are just around the corner. Car enthusiasts and Tata fans alike can look forward to experiencing the enhanced Harrier and Safari soon.
