Skoda Rapid Rider Plus Launched In India At Rs. 7.99 Lakh

Skoda officially launched the BS6 version of Rapid in May 2020 but the big talking point was the entry-level Rider variant, which was priced at Rs. 7.49 lakh (Ex-Showroom) as it undercuts most of the compact sedan and some premium hatchbacks too. The response was overwhelming and the company had to stop bookings for some time as the waiting period is increasing. Now the company launched Rider Plus in India at Rs. 7.99 Lakh (Ex-Showroom).

The Rider Plus comes at a premium of just Rs. 50,000 as it gets some new features when compared to the regular Rider variant as Skoda is offering 6.5-inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system gets Mirror Link function too as customers were looking for a premium system, which was not available in Rider as it comes with basic 2-din music system with Bluetooth connectivity.

Apart from the new infotainment system, Skoda is offering two new colour options on Rider Plus – Brilliant Silver and Toffee Brown along with Candy White and Carbon Steel. The exterior changes include new side graphics, glossy black finish on B-pillar, trunk lip garnish and chrome line on the window. The Rapid Rider Plus also gets scuff plates with Rapid name while all other features are the same for both models.

The standard features include a climate control system, four-door power windows, fabric upholstery and more. Skoda Rapid Rider Plus is powered by same 1.0 L 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 110 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and the automatic gearbox will be available soon. Earlier reports have also indicated that the base Rider variant bookings will commence in three months.
