Skoda Kushaq Production Model officially Revealed

Skoda officially revealed the much-awaited Kushaq as it is the production version of the Vision IN Concept showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Karoq is the first model to be based on the MQB A0 IN platform, which is developed for the Indian market as it is derived from the MQB A0 platform. The compact SUV is part of the India 2.0 project announced in 2018 as the company has invested 7900 crores in India to develop the upcoming model.

The Kushaq is not a sub-four metre compact SUV as it measures 4225 mm in length, 1760 mm in width, 1612 mm in height while the wheelbase is 2651 mm. The boot space is 385 L, which can be expanded to 1405 L by folding the second row. The production model continues the same design theme as the concept as the front gets LED headlamps along with the signature grille of Skoda and a new design for the bumper.

The side design is similar to other Skoda products with a strong character line on the side for the muscular look. The SUV comes with 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels while the rear gets LED tail lamps. The interior os Kushaq continues the fresh design theme as the overall cabin gets a dual-tone colour theme. The centre console gets a 10-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. One of the highlights is the new two-spoke steering wheel.

The Kushaq comes with lots of features like ventilated seats, sunroof, cooled glove box, ambient lighting, 6-speaker audio system with sub-woofer, wireless charging, USB-C charging points and more. The SUV is powered by two engine options – 1.0 L and 1.5 L petrol engines. The 1.0 L petrol engine produces 115 PS and 175 Nm, mated to 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter. The 1.5 L petrol comes with 150 PS and 250 Nm, 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. Skoda is expected to launch the Kushaq soon.
