Skoda Compact SUV Rendered, Launch Next Year

We reported a few days back that Skoda is developing a new compact SUV for India and other emerging markets. Rendering artist Pratyush Rout published renderings of the Skoda compact SUV, which gave us a first look at what the production model might look like. The rendering took inspiration from Skoda Vision S as a baseline as it was officially revealed a couple of years ago and the concept previewed the future design theme of Skoda products.

The front gets sharp-looking LED headlamps while the hood has muscular elements with the Skoda logo in the middle. The bumper design is minimalistic with a huge air intake while the side design is simple. The mirrors are placed on the door instead of the A-pillar and the rear three-quarters get a unique design element. While the rear gets full LED tail lamps which might be connected like most of the competitors.

The interior design could be similar to what we have already seen on current Skoda cars and it will be loaded with features. The European carmaker is planning to localize the compact SUV up to 90 percent as it will reduce the cost and the sub-four meter length will give tax benefits too. The engine will be the 1.0 L TSI unit which already does duty on Slavia and Kushaq with manual and automatic gearbox options.
