Renault To Debut New Kwid EV Tomorrow

Renault-Nissan is planning to launch six new models, which include two new electric models and SUVs. Dacia is going to reveal the Kwid-based electric hatchback tomorrow. The company hasn’t revealed many details about the upcoming model but it is based on the CMF-A platform, which already underpins many of the entry-level models of both Renault and Nissan. This new platform is already developed for both electric models and ICE variants.

According to new reports, the design theme of the upcoming electric hatchback is expected to share the Duster theme. The new-generation Duster made its global debut last year and it has been a big success for the company. Renault revealed its version of the Duster earlier this year and it is expected to make its debut sometime next year. The hatchback gets a new front grille with the Dacia logo in the middle and it will be used as the port to charge.

The front gets full LED headlamps along with faux skid plates for SUV look while the rear gets new LED tail lamps. The interior design is expected to be simple and some of the features include a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Kwid EV is expected to be powered by a 26.8 kWh battery pack producing 43 bhp of power and 125 Nm of torque. The claimed range is 230 km and it supports DC fast charging also.
