Nissan Motor India Appoints New Managing Director Saurabh Vatsa

Nissan Motor India is gearing up for a change in leadership as it announces the appointment of Saurabh Vatsa as the company’s new Managing Director. Stepping into this role on April 1, 2024, Vatsa will succeed Rakesh Srivastava, who is poised to retire on March 31st. The transition marks a significant shift for Nissan Motor India, signalling a new chapter under Vatsa’s leadership. Vatsa’s journey to this position has been marked by notable achievements within the company. He was recently promoted to the position of Deputy Managing Director on January 15, a move that underscored his capabilities and readiness for higher responsibilities.

As Managing Director, Vatsa will play a pivotal role in steering Nissan Motor India through its strategic initiatives and operational endeavours. He will report directly to Frank Torres, President of Nissan India Operations and Region Divisional Vice President of Business Transformation (AMIEO), ensuring alignment with the company’s broader vision and goals. Vatsa’s appointment comes at a critical time for Nissan Motor India. His extensive experience and proven track record within the automotive industry position him well to lead the company forward.

Meanwhile, Rakesh Srivastava’s departure marks the end of a distinguished career spanning over three decades. Srivastava’s contributions to Nissan Motor India, along with his wealth of experience garnered from esteemed brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and JSW Group, have been invaluable. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in guiding Nissan through various challenges and milestones, including the successful launch of the Magnite, it is the model, which changed the fortunes for Nissan in India.
