Next Generation Verna To Start Production From March 2023

The Korean manufacturer is preparing to start the production of the new generation Verna in India in March 2023. The Verna is the brand’s mid-size sedan that has been in sale in India for more than a decade. Hyundai regularly brought updates to the vehicle with time and now the sedan is preparing to feature its next-generation model. However, the vehicle planning to manufacture in the country will be largely concerned with export. Previously the Verna was manufactured and largely exported from the brand’s production plant in Russia. The post-war scenario in Russia makes it the brand difficult to continue its operations there due to a shortage of components. Hence the brand shall improve its production facility in India to manufacture the Verna in large numbers for both domestic sales and exports.

The next-generation Verna has been spotted testing many times and it is expected to get a very distinct design change. It will largely be inspired by the brand’s full-size sedan Elantra. The vehicle will also feature the new sensuous sportiness design language of the brand which is seen in the latest iteration of the Hyundai Tucson in the country. Over the interior also the vehicle shall get changes and the major change will be the new interior layout inspired by the Ioniq 5 model with twin screen setup. The vehicle will be rich in features and technologies. It will feature more advanced safety tech (ADAS).

The vehicle is also expected to get changes under the hood. The vehicle is expected to get a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 140 bhp. And the vehicle will also be offered in the same 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 115 bhp. However, with the newly updated emission norms, the vehicle shall not be offered in diesel engines anymore. The vehicle is expected to soon be unveiled and launched Globally as the vehicle is getting into serious production from March 2023. This shall help India in the national economy with a huge increase in the country’s export.
