Kia is planning to introduce the new-generation Carnival in India and the company showcased the model at the 2023 Auto Expo as KA4. Recently the Korean manufacturer revealed the facelift version of Carnival globally and it is the model that is coming to the Indian market. Finally, the new Carnival has been spotted testing in the Indian market for the first time. The test mule was heavily camouflaged to hide details but the new LED DRLs on the headlamps along with the grille and the overall body shape confirm it as the new Carnival.
The design theme of the new model looks interesting as it gets a more upright nose with a wide grille adorned with chrome accents, while L-shaped headlamps and DRLs add a touch of modernity. The front bumper features a clean, crease-free design with a faux brushed aluminium skid plate, giving the Carnival a premium appearance. This L-shaped design theme continues at the rear, where connected tail lamps and an LED light bar are reminiscent of Kia’s updated Seltos and their EV SUV lineup.
The side and rear are likely to have the same design theme as the International-spec model. The tailgate design is flat, and the rear bumper combines matte black and chrome accents for a sophisticated finish. The interior design is in line with other Kia models as the biggest change is the introduction of a compact rotary gear selector, replacing the previously bulky gear lever. The Carnival is expected to come with different seating options. Kia might offer the same diesel engine as the current model and the launch is expected to take place in the second half of 2024.
